Resonance, by Joe Marabito is an exquisite monograph of his black and white photographs from a lifetime of work behind the lens. The photographs contained in this volume were selected from among his thousands of pictures because they best serve to take the viewer on a visual journey designed to impart emotional resonance, through both individual images and as a curated collection. The photographs, combined with the insightful foreward by renown photographer Paula Chamlee, will give this book a prominent position in your collection. The presence, depth, richness, and subtly of its photographs, most created from large- and medium- format negatives, reproduced with high resolution scanning, and printed in quadtone, will make you want to cut out the pages and frame them on your wall.

Marabito takes a contemplative approach to making photographs, studying his subjects and lighting carefully prior to setting up his camera in order to ascertain the energy and essence of a subject and determine the vision and feeling he wants to convey. Only then does he meticulously frame and expose a negative. He prefers black and white analog methods using larger format film because of their ability to extract and convey the beauty and tonal nuance in a subject. His darkroom dexterity enables him to eloquently express his vision in the finished print, which you will enjoy in abundance in this book. It is a volume you will want to revisit often for it's artistry and emotional impact - in other words, its gratifying resonance.

This Special Edition, a signed, numbered edition limited to 25 copies, comes with a matted 8x10 inch print, all enclosed in a sturdy, fabric-wrapped and embossed case. Customers may choose from one of five photographs shown: Westminster Abbey, Point Lobos Rocks, Shore Acres Fallen Tree, Olympic National Park Shrouded Range, or Propeller. It will be available in May 2026.
