Mount Gould, Swiftcurrent Lake, and Fog, Glacier National Park, Montana, 1993
I made this negative early in the morning when Swiftcurrent Lake was completely shrouded in fog. I had to wait quite awhile for the sun to burn off the fog, perhaps some 90 minutes or so, but was rewarded by this view when it finally did. Just as I was packing up my gear to return to the lodge I heard a loud rustling a small ways down the trail from me. It turned out to be a large bear foraging for food. So as not to become bear breakfast, I hastened my exit. Fortunately, the lakeside lodge was nearby.
